Students are influenced by their surroundings. I believe in helping my students to develop a positive mindset by helping them believe in themselves. Daily reminders with inspirational sayings placed around the room will create an atmosphere of "I Can" and "I Will Try" rather than "I Can't" and "I Give Up".
I chose several decal inspirational sayings to place on the walls of my room and around the door entering my room to be displayed all year to remind students of their uniqueness and to never ever give up. Throughout the year I plan on switching out and displaying the different motivational posters I requested to help my students focus on different qualities that will help them succeed in everything they do.
Being organized always helps with staying focused and ready to learn. The organizational charts and mailboxes will give my students their individual spaces to stay organized with the things they need for class and they can devote their attention to learning rather than trying to find lost papers or materials. If my students each had a dry erase board to show me their work from where ever they were in the room, it would allow me to respond to more students individually throughout the class time with the positive feedback they all deserve.
We all need words of encouragement and inspirational thoughts to help us stay focused on our goals. Surrounding my students in an organized, positive, uplifting environment will help them succeed.
