My hard-working group of students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism are ages 18-22 and remain in school after graduation to develop transition skills. Our transition program is housed in a large high school, but my students are very active off-site every day. Students volunteer in vocational experiences with job coach support throughout our community and surrounding towns, and participate in weekly activities of recreation and leisure together as a class. We also work on increasing independence by learning about various life skills both in the classroom and community.
