As residents of inner city neighborhoods, many of my students cannot safely play outside after school. Most of my students come from homes well below the poverty level and are thankful for the education they are receiving. The school is a sanctuary, providing an education with a curriculum designed to prepare them for a changing world. Despite the dedication and efforts of myself and my paraprofessional, there are many days when our students' energy proves a challenge to providing a productive learning environment.
