At the beginning of each year, I tell my students about their BIG 2nd grade project, The Wax Museum. Although, scary and intimating at first, this is the event we work towards and the students look forward to each year. It's a way for my hard working 7-8 year olds to shine for their parents and families. This year I would love to make this experience even more amazing. I have asked for LED touch lights to take the place of paper "buttons" that parents usually press. Unfortunately, they require 3 batteries each and we will be using them to practice and for the big day. The vinyl will be used to print off labels for each light to signal to visitors to "push" the button for the students to come to life.
The doorbell chimes will ensure that visitors to our wax museum transition to each student to make sure they all have an opportunity to show off their hard work.
The colorful paper and tape will help students take ownership in creating their displays in an eye catching way. Students will be able to print off their research in a way they feel will look best.
