Student collaboration is an everyday occurrence in my classroom. We believe wholeheartedly that we can learn so much from our peers. My classroom thrives when my students are able to talk about their learning with their fellow students and that is something that I want to continue for years to come. This school year I have given my students the best areas to work in that I can, however many of my seating options that I have had available for my students have broken or fallen apart. In order for my students to collaborate successfully they need sturdy, high quality seating and tables. A rug and some pillows offer a great collaborating area, but I want to offer my students flexibility in choice. By offering sturdy, differentiated seating, my students will be able to choose areas that they learn and work best in. By having collaborative tables, stools, and chairs, my students will have more than enough areas to choose from!
