My students come from all over the 5 boroughs of NYC but are mostly from West Harlem, Washington Heights, and the Bronx. They inspire me to find new ways to make them love math every single day. Coming from low-income families, my students push me to teach them how algebra is going to help them succeed in life. Finding those connections and teaching them to appreciate the complexity of solving equations, using formulas, etc are the very parts of my classroom that keep my students engaged and excited.
