An alphabet carpet/rug will help provide a place for the students to gather during morning calendar time, math centers, reading centers, and also reading carpet time (teacher read aloud). It will also help with classroom management because every student has a spot to sit and they know that’s their spot. This will also coordinate with the colored tables, so those students will know what color they are. We have a tile floor so this carpet will also be a comfortable spot to sit during centers and teacher read aloud. A rug also provides these students with the necessary socialization skills they need to develop.
