I have chosen 2nd to 5th grade level books with matching CD and CD players in which my kids can listen to during their DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time. They will be able to access my resource lab to do this. These materials will allow my struggling readers to be able to independently read their library books, acquire their Accelerated Reader goals, and be able to go on reward trips with their peers.
This will help them gain a love of reading, as well as increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills. In return, they will know a confidence that many students with dyslexia often lack.
