Each year, our students are encouraged to read the South Carolina book award nominees for that particular school year. I like being able to have these books in my classroom for my students, as many students like to read them together throughout the year. Many of my students challenge themselves to read all twenty of the nominees over the year, and having the copies in my classroom allow for students to take the time they need to read each one. The books are on different reading levels, and consist of many different genres, but are all current, which adds to my classroom collection of both new and classic!
