If you could take a peek inside my classroom you would most certainly see a mess and probably hear quite a bit of noise. I know that doesn't sound like your typical classroom... and that's because it's not! In my art class we make CREATIVE MESSES and the kids chatter among themselves about the art process and their projects. My students are not only learning about art, but also how to apply art to other subjects and real life. They learn:
-about making mistakes and how to fix them
-how to evaluate themselves to promote growth
-how to have fun with learning and make connections
-how to think creatively
-that no matter what they are doing that they should always put forth their best effort, so that in the end they can be PROUD of what they have accomplished.
