I teach 550+ students at a Title 1 school just outside a major urban area in Georgia. My students come with lots of dreams, lots of obstacles and lots of creative energy. My classroom is a bit different than many art rooms because my students are artists from the moment they walk in the room. I guide them, teach techniques and vocabulary, and ask questions to help them think about their work carefully. My student artists create their own work from their own ideas. This way of teaching helps them find their unique creative voice and take responsibility for their work and ideas.
