My students have diverse sensory needs. A sand table will allow them a much needed sensory break during the day as we currently cannot utilize a playground for recess. This sand table would also allow them another opportunity to play together! The molds for the sand would further foster their ever-growing STEM skills.
The magnetic whiteboard easel would allow me to bring new student interaction to our small and whole group learning activities. My students love building words with magnetic letters and currently have very little space to do so. This board would allow me to work this skill into our phonics and reading lessons. The versatility to move this board around the classroom allows my students even more access to learning with this. Currently, I use a small 8.5 x 11 personal whiteboard for small group instruction, this poses a challenge for both me and my students. I know my students will be so excited to be fully engaged in learning!
The smaller items listed would provide engaging educational activities to my students in a variety of settings. For example, practicing sequencing with the build-a-burger activities would provide a fun game where my students could apply and generalize the skills we are learning. Other items are meant to further organize our classroom. The supply caddy would benefit my students as many of them are distracted by items kept in their desks, grab and go supplies would foster their independence in the classroom.
