I teach 3-5 year olds in a public school. Our students are in blended classrooms (18 in the morning, 18 in the afternoon), which means some students are developmentally where they should be, while others are delayed in at least one area of development. Those who are not delayed are at-risk in one aspect in another, whether it be a low-income family, having family members who suffer from drug abuse, a single-parent home, one or more parents incarcerated, etc.
