My students need, The Flex Space Comfy Carpet I am asking your help to fund will be an integral part of our learning. We will use it throughout our day, to give body breaks, engage in independent literacy and math activities and foster a close sense of community.
A comfortable meeting area is the place where students have conversations, learn to listen to one another and honor each other’s perspectives. Students consider each other’s work and problem solve in a cozy place where they sit next to a partner who they can turn and talk to.
The carpet area is where students can easily gather in a circle, make eye contact and actively listen to each other. Meeting together fosters empathy, engagement and a strong sense of community belonging. Kids share ideas, hold conversations, and work both together and independently, which is essential to the growth mindset of each child. Choices of flexible seating options are essential to the growth mindset of each child and the class as a whole.
