My students will become more are engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work and an opportunity to keep their classroom belongings organized. The "Chair Pockets" will serve as an organizational tool in order to keep their work environment stress free. These will be used to keep their daily reading materials together as well.
Providing hands-on learning materials such as the CVC Unifix cubes and the Counting and Place Value chart will allow the students to work individually, cooperatively and in whole group settings as well.
In my classroom, I want the students to be aware of our daily schedule, so that they know what to expect and using the Deluxe Scheduling Pocket chart will provide a visual and serve as a reminder throughout the day.
Finally, children need to use their imagination and be creative. And what is a classroom without crayons and markers!
