The student population at my Title I school is incredibly diverse in socioeconomic situations and cultural backgrounds. I believe that it is crucial for them to work collaboratively so they can learn to be accepting of differing perspectives. Many have a unique musical culture to share with their classmates. The music classroom can act as a place where children who have very little can find emotional fulfillment and academic success.
