My students are a wonderful, enthusiastic group of first graders. They live in a very low socio-economic area of our city. They often lack some of the most basic needs in their homes. Many have no access to technology. Each day they come to school excited to learn, eager to be valued and willing to work hard. I come to work determined to help each one reach their full potential.
My school is a Title I elementary school that serves a largely Hispanic and African American population. The majority of our students are on the free lunch program and we offer tutoring and migrant programs in addition to our regular education programs.
