A comfortable classroom rug which reflects our science curriculum will identify a cozy corner for group work. The leaf and vine patterned rug will be a focal point for our interactive work, small or large group. In addition, technology floor desks will allow these 2nd graders to develop their collaborative imaginations. The desks take their natural desire to sit on the floor and allow them to use their chromebooks in pairs. They can work together to research and create presentations. We are a fully inclusive school, and these will help all learners participate together. They already love working on the floor and developing interesting projects and solving complex problems, these tools will complement their natural need to move while learning.
Earth science and habitats are two of our focus areas in Science and these will surround students in a flexible learning habitat perfect for them. We will use the rug for whole-group instruction as well, across reading, writing and math times.
