My students come in to my room excited to learn and grow. They enter my room as tadpoles and leave as energetic, bouncing frogs.
My students come from one of the lowest income areas in our county. They come with many unique challenges that no student should ever have to face and yet they greet me at my door with smiles from ear to ear and stories to tell. Their unique challenges include but are not limited to ADD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and language impairments. As their teacher, I see and watch them struggle with these challenges and fight to find ways to meet their instructional needs. As the year progresses and solutions are found I watch as they develop into successful learners with goals that will enable them to be productive adults.
