These sets of leveled books will allow me to meet with groups of students who are working on similar reading strategies and skills. Having the books in our classroom would allow us to revisit familiar texts to reinforce new reading and writing skills as well.
AKJ Education and Scholastic have wonderful fiction and non-fiction books that will enhance our classroom library and individualized reading instruction.
Having a majority of English Language Learners in our classroom means that we focus heavily on vocabulary. These books would cover a variety of reading levels so that they could all use the books to enhance their vocabulary and English language abilities. Some of my other students are struggling readers and/or special education students who would also benefit from these books which come in many different levels.
The titles and topics of these books are high interest authors, series and non-fiction topics which are vital to keeping readers and struggling readers interested!
