Our school was built in 1939 and we are working to transform our library into an innovative space that develops curious and creative learners and readers. Our project serves our 2nd-4th graders, many who are at risk and come from low-income homes, and will continue to serve Leverett students for years to come. These students deserve access to a vibrant, updated collection of library books. Currently our shelves are filled with many worn out and outdated books with an average age of 30 years, and many of their favorite books need replacing. This project will provide brand new chapter books for middle grade readers and will help to build a foundation of literacy and draw students into the magical world of reading and learning.
