I teach Kindergarten in a school in North East Portland. I have a class of 20 diverse students from all walks of life. My students are full of life and have many different experiences to share. The needs of the students in my classroom range vastly. I work collaboratively with other educators in the building, the special education team, and community programs that support families and at-risk youth. At school, we focus on creating a space where students feel welcome and supported. We strive to have all students see themselves in the school. Culturally, my classroom is very diverse and so, I work to make sure students see themselves in the curriculum. I learn from these Kindergarteners every day and I am excited for what the future holds for them.
