Students will be using their new Prismacolor colored pencils and pastels to create mandalas that have a personal theme. Students will learn radial symmetry and create a themed mandala and describe that theme using only pictographs and the personal, unique symbols they create. The colors they use will also be symbolic, as they will learn all about art theory and the emotional impact of color. An additional challenge is that they must design their theme using no words! Students will enjoy learning how to visually communicate a clear theme throughout this art project.
