I teach Biology in a public urban high school in Maryland. About 75% of the students that attend the school receive free and reduced price lunch.
My classes are made of mostly 11th graders who are taking Biology to meet a graduation requirement. In my current classes 34% of the students are either in the special education or english language learner program. It is OK to say that most of my students won't read unless required to for class if they are not reading a blog or magazine. I believe this book can spark interest in science.
