My students are a diverse group of young 1st Graders in Iowa. Roughly 80% of the students attending my school qualify for free/reduced school meals. Nearly 25% of my students are English Language Learners. Roughly half of these students are refugees from Africa. Most of my students will have less than 10 books in their homes.
