The kits that we are requesting will allow my students to have a direct learning experience with the engineering concepts that I teach.
For example, WeDo 2.0 kits will allow students to build and program robots and serve as an introduction to mechanical engineering concepts.
The drones will allow students to have hands-on experiences creating flying objects and the Sphero will allow students to program robots in a unique fun manner.
As a former engineer who left industry to teach middle school science, I believe that our society needs more students to have a mastery of science and technology. Specifically, I have a personal goal of seeing 100 of my students become engineers. The requested material will play a large role in making science more fun for my students and with helping them believe in their ability to "Do Engineering."
