We have a fantastic school community that is one of the few in our district to have a balance between low and high income students, as well as English and Spanish speaking students. The students learn as much from each other as they do from the staff and teachers. Some students come to kindergarten having spent a couple of years enjoying preschool, but many have not set foot in a school before their first day. With all of the pressure on kids to perform academically, we want them to be able to enjoy some of the developmental appropriate activities that every child in kindergarten should get a chance to discover.
