We are creating a new and fun set of memories for these kiddos and having these music resources will greatly enhance their experience and learning in music. The CDs and teacher resources enhance student learning and provide a fun and groovy soundtrack to our music time.
Using scarves, shakers, and other manipulatives helps students "feel" the music while moving around the classroom and making joyful sounds! Students with special needs have an innate love of music and they need to experience and interact with music for it to be most effective. The best way to learn about music is to sing and dance while expressing yourself!
Using teaching tools like Freddie the Frog and incorporating folk songs and dances are some of the many ways that we can reach students with special needs. My goal is to have them dancing and smiling every time they come through music class, because they know it's going to be a rocking good time!
