With such diverse groups of students, we have many needs to be addressed. Some students require a more rigorous curriculum that necessitates independent study and exploration, while others need help filling in the gaps in their basic skills. There are so many web-based learning opportunities, as well as programs that allow students to publish their work in interesting ways, such as Google Classroom. Some of my students are unable to access the internet from home, so their only opportunities to develop technological skills happen at school. I'd love for my students to have opportunities to work at their own unique levels and increase their skills in a variety of areas. My students will be more empowered learners and I will be a better teacher by offering them individualized educational opportunities. Our world is moving away from paper-and-pencil work, and our schools should be doing so, as well.
