Students in my room learn through play. Play is used to build communion, build life skills such as buttoning, social skills and peer relationships. Having a dress up play center will help engage students in play skills. Right now my play clothes are in a bin. Having clothes out and in view will help increase more play and imagination in my classroom. This helps make play fun and students can have less adult support during these time. This helps them feel successful and proud while building essential skills they will need for life.
By donating to this project, you will help a Special Needs classroom have more access to life skill activities that enhance student learning.
The Sterilite Latch Box and the Royexe Storage Cubes will be used to organize the toy area in my classroom and clearly label items.
The Let's Play Dress Up Unit will be used to display play dress options for the students. This will make the items more available than looking through a crate to find something and will build many life skills such as buttoning, using plastic hangers, and understand themes such as community helper outfits.
