My students are lively and caring 6th-8th graders that make me laugh all the time. Many come from families that do not value education and allow them to stay at home. Which is why having them come regularly is crucial. Having something that the students are excited about makes it easier to get them to come to school on their own.
My school is located in Hawaii in a predominantly rural, low-income neighborhood with a considerable portion of the children of Hawaiian and/or Pacific Island ancestry. Over half of our students receive free and reduced lunch.
