As we prepare to open our schools during the COVID-19 health pandemic educators everywhere are faced with new challenges to meet the guidelines and expectations put in place by their state and local officials. These tubs will help my students feel safe while learning in their own individual learning pod.
These tubs are a creative way to meet distancing expectations while giving the students an engaging place to sit. All sanitizing requirements will be followed for each of the tubs to keep my students safe. Furthermore, each tub will have a number that corresponds with a student so there will be no tub sharing or cross contamination. While meeting distancing expectations, I will be able still hold small group lessons as well as whole group lessons for my kindergarten students.
If we ever get to go back to public school without all of these distancing guidelines and expectations, I still plan on using these tubs for flexible seating options in my classroom. These tubs or learning pods are an immediate need for this year but will be used for many years to come.
