We all like to choose where we sit and we like to be comfortable when we work. Some people work best at a table, some on the floor, some on a balance ball. I'd like my students to have a choice of where they sit and I'd like for them to have a variety of options available. Flexible seating is a way to incorporate movement throughout their day.
Kindergarten is a magical year full of amazing learning and growth. After much research, I am confident that flexible seating will enhance my kindergarten program and increase time on task and add to the enjoyment of learning for my students.
Some of the benefits of flexible seating include higher motivation and engagement, burning calories, using up excess energy, increased oxygen flow to the brain, and improved core strength and overall posture.
