I teach 2 groups of students, 19 in one class and 17 in the other. One is a Dual Language program where native English speaking students learn academic skills in both English and Spanish based on the kindergarten standards. It is a very rigorous program and the expectations are high. The other class is a Transitional Bilingual program where students are beginning to develop English language proficiency as well as early literacy and math skills. They are hard workers and many students have begun to read and write in English.
Students range from 4-6 years old. For some, this is their very first school experience. All of the children are eager to learn and demonstrate great effort.
