Though all children have value, students with disabilities can sometimes be overlooked in the race towards meeting the state standards. The climate can sometimes be discouraging for some kids, but I do see those times when they connect to topics and become excited. I am a Special Education teacher and most of my students this school year are identified as students with a Specific Learning Disability. A few of them receive Language and Speech services in the school during the school day. My students have challenges and wins that enhance their character and enrich their experience. The class and I would love to take at least 2 local field trips this semester ending June 2014! Total cost: $200
