I teach Senior English at a low income school. My students are very respectful of themselves, authority, and their environment. Many of them have made it through eight years of school without ever reading a novel from cover to cover. They also come from homes that may not have books to read or parents that may have never read a book themselves. They are eager learners who need guidance to follow through and set goals for themselves. They continually live up to high expectations and seek to learn. I have set up my classroom in themes to enhance the student involvement in the book.
