I teach in a high-poverty school in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. However, that does not hinder my bright students from wanting to learn. My students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and need the tools to help them become successful. They are excited and inspired by the world around them.
Over 90% of our students receive free lunches, and I don't believe this should hinder their exposure to the resources available in schools within higher socioeconomic areas.
Despite hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
