Think about where you go to do some of your paperwork or maybe homework. Are you required to sit by the same person and the same spot every time? Or do you choose to do this type of work at your home office, a coffee shop, the kitchen island, comfy couch filled with pillows? This is the exact reason for this project.
I want to give my students the choice in where they sit to be the most productive in their academics. I want my students to feel confident and comfortable in our classroom. My goal is to give students a feeling of belonging each day at school. I will do this by giving our classroom a "coffee shop feel" by offering different seating options such as a couch, comfy leather chair, pillow seats, or high table/stools. This will allow students to figure out what is best for their learning as well as limit behaviors. This also allows students to spread out and doesn't confine them to their desks.
