I am the librarian at my school and teach over 620 students. 96% of our school's population are on free or reduced lunch. My students crave the latest technology, but can't afford it themselves. They are excited to work with the latest technology and dream of using it to create meaningful projects. They are an energetic group of students, who thrive on accomplishing something they are proud of. They love to create, build, and work together. Many of my students have terrible home lives and need to feel self worth. The majority of my students are first generation Americans or are immigrants. Their families have moved to the United States to make a better life for their families. Many are refugees fleeing their war-torn country. These students must learn how to use technology to succeed in a 21st century world. In order to do this, they need hands-on access to the latest apps and tools to be successful.
