Students do many different calculations in science yet many do not own their own calculators. Currently students use the basic calculator available on their school provided device, share with the person next to them, or they race to borrow one of the few good calculators I have. I currently have six calculators available for students to borrow, all are different from each other and only two are scientific calculators.
Having consistent access to the same high quality scientific calculators will allow students to focus on the work they are doing rather than trying to figure out how to use the device. Students will use these calculators all year, sometimes as frequently as every day depending on the topic of study.
