North Plainfield High School has a serious developing music program which encourages students to explore multiple avenues of artistic expression through music. Our marching band is award winning and our concert and jazz bands play serious, challenging literature. However, our modest budget cannot keep up with the rigorous demands of our program. Our instruments are aging and sound inferior compared the musicianship of our students. Imagine working hundreds of hours on a marching band show, being considered one of the best in your state, and then having your instrument break as you are about to perform for the championships you've worked so hard for. This has happened three times in the last two years.
