This past year I started a Book Club program in my classroom where students get to form little book clubs and pick books at or above their reading level to read and discuss with their peers. Through this program I have discovered the love my students have for reading chapter books. Even my struggling readers were trying their hardest to read chapter books, and I realized that if I can make it available they will read it and they will love what they are reading. Throughout the program I realized my students love for Roald Dahl books and the Harry Potter series. Even at their young age my students love reading these books.
With these books and magazines my students will be able to explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter, the fantastic tales of Roald Dahl, and the world of science independently. These books will also help to continue the print-rich classroom environment I strive to have, and most important it will help to encourage my students love for reading all kinds of texts with fluidity and passion.
