My students attend a rural school on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. They come from a diverse community which includes a variety of ethnic, cultural, and economic groups. About 50% of my students receive free and reduced lunch benefits. For a few of my students, English is their second language.
My students are a lively bunch who enjoy the structure and high expectations of our grade level. They push themselves to meet deadlines and to accept challenges to help them achieve. They are also a very close knit group who enjoy spending time with each other.
