The Lakeshore resources that I am requesting will be used on a daily basis in my classroom to build students' reading fluency and comprehension. About half of the students in my class are reading at least a year below grade level and these resources will enable me to differentiate for my students' specific levels and needs.
By funding my project, you will be supporting the literacy needs of a very special group of students. These resources will be used to provide differentiated practice for the students in my class. The fluency resources will be used every day as we try to increase the words per minute that each child can read. Repeated readings are valuable practice for kids who struggle with accuracy and fluency. We will also use the comprehension cards to builds students' comprehension and prepare them for standardized testing. Although I will never "teach to the test," testing is a very specific reading genre and these practice cards will give students the chance to practice their test taking skills.
Please consider giving to my classroom project. I have used these resources in the past and seen incredible growth in my students' reading.
