My 4th grade students love to read and learn, especially when it is hands-on, student centered and engaging. One of my goals as a teacher is to keep learning as authentic and active as possible. My students are enthusiastic about the science experiments that we do and they loved writing their own stories last year in Writer's Workshop. I know that they will love the independence and structure of Reader's Workshop this year. Our school is best described as a family. We have a wide range of social and economic needs, but everyone is willing to work together to do the best with the resources we have.
