We want to spice up our daily student news show to make it look and feel more like a real news broadcast! For the past several years, our librarian has run a daily news show posted to You-Tube each day and viewed by our K-5 students. As the new librarian for the building, I want to work with students to take the show to the next level by updating our look and including interview segments and segments taped from school events. Students involved in the news program will learn all aspects of production including interviewing, taping live events, and editing for length and content. Students across the school will benefit from the increased quality of the news program and we hope to spark more community excitement and participation with the show. I have already been promised a green screen from the school district and we have a microphone and lights. The remaining piece is an i-Pad with a large enough memory to perform the tasks of recording and editing! This is why I am hoping that all of you wonderful donors out there can help us purchase this last piece of critical equipment!
