My students need options!!! Having balance ball chairs would allow my students to be their best learning selves. Throughout the school day, I provide special education academic services for Kindergarten thru grade five students. The classroom setting consists of traditional seating and many cannot sit still for more than five minutes. Can you blame them??? Having attention deficit myself, I understand that it is not their fault and that is why I feel so passionate about flexible seating in a classroom.
My students may have disabilities but I want them to have the best chance of academic success. Flexible seating would transform my classroom into a highly functional space where my students feel supported and understood. It would also allow them to be comfortable and in turn be focused and engaged. Research states that flexible seating stimulate students' sense of touch which can help them focus and process information, especially helpful for children with ADHD and ADD.
My students deserve a comfortable and proactive learning environment and balance ball chairs would allow them that opportunity.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my project. My students will be most grateful if you decide to donate and be the reason they are engaged in learning thru flexible seating.
