In our district, the only seating that is provided for the students is basic desks and chairs. Unfortunately, this rigid arrangement is only a positive learning experience for some students. My goal is to make the classroom a comfortable place for all children. In order to do this, I need to provide some alternative seating options. I have bought yoga balls and made some bucket seating myself, and a parent donated balancing cushions, but standing desks would be another great option for students to be able to wiggle around a little while learning. This movement actually helps students stay more focused and be more comfortable. The magazine holders are to hold their folders and notebooks since most of the regular desks will be removed from the classroom.
