I have the privilege of teaching kindergarten in one of the most amazing schools. The students we work with predominately come from low income families. I work with students from many different ethnic and cultural groups, many of whom do not speak English at home. When you add in the fact that our students frequently move in and out throughout the year you have a unique mixture of educational needs. Everyday I walk through the door of my classroom knowing I am making a difference and an impact on the lives of my students. I walk in everyday knowing that each lesson has to count, and I have to reach each student at their level because they may not be coming back the next day. There are not many jobs where you can see the outcome of your work blossoming before your eyes. I feel lucky that I get to be a part of that for my kids, and that I get to watch them learn and grow every day.
