My class is made up of 9 awesome individual kids. I am the teacher to the grades 2-5 Life Skills class at Laketown Elementary in Springfield, Il. My students' disabilities range from autism to intellectual disabilities to cerebral palsy and more. My classroom staff includes a classroom aide and 4 1:1 aides. Even though my students are between the ages of 7 and 12, cognitively and developmentally the ages range from 12-18 months and 6 years old. We not only work on academic skills, we also learn about functional life skills, social/emotional skills, hygiene, communication and more. We love our brain breaks and free play time, as much as we love learning. Any donation that is made will be greatly appreciated and put to great use.
